Camping at Blythe Island Regional Park: What to Know Before You Go
RV sites, tent sites, a freshwater swim beach, and a marina on the South Brunswick River — here's what Blythe Island Regional Park offers, and how to book a spot.

When people think of the Golden Isles, they picture the beaches on St. Simons and Jekyll. But one of the best spots to pitch a tent or park an RV is on the mainland, just outside Brunswick.
Blythe Island Regional Park is a county park, and it's easy to overlook. Here's what it offers and how to get a spot.
The park at a glance
The park sits at 6616 Blythe Island Highway and covers about 1,100 acres. That's plenty of room to spread out, whether you're here for a weekend or a longer stay.

The campground office, just inside the gate — this is where you check in and where you'll get answers on sites and hours.
RV and tent camping
There are 97 full-hookup RV sites. The first 13 sit on the lake, so if you want a view out your window, ask about those when you call.
For tent campers, there are 24 primitive sites. If you'd rather sleep a little closer to the ground, that's your option.

The park's rabbits are used to people and will wander right up to your site. Nobody tells you that part beforehand.
Lake Cindee and the swim beach

Lake Cindee's swim beach — flat, fresh water and a sand bottom, which is an easier first swim for little ones than the surf.
The park's freshwater lake, Lake Cindee, has a swim beach. It's a nice change of pace from the ocean — no waves, no salt, and easy for younger kids.
There's also an all-inclusive playground that opened in spring 2024, built so kids of all abilities can play together.
The marina
If you're bringing a boat, the marina gives you access to the South Brunswick River, and it has a 3-ton hoist. There's a fee to launch, so ask about it when you call.
Call for availability and rates
The park doesn't publish its campsite rates online, so the only way to get current pricing and availability is to call.

When you call, it's worth asking about:
- Rates for lakeview RV sites versus the other RV sites
- Primitive tent site rates
- Weekly rates, if you're staying longer
- Any day-use or lake fishing fees
- Marina launch fees
- Gate hours — the park is gated and locks up in the evening
Why it's worth knowing about
If you're relocating to the area, a campsite at Blythe Island can be a handy home base while you look around. And if you already live here, it's one of those places that's easy to forget is right in your backyard.

Every site has a fire ring and a grill grate. This is the part the kids remember.
